The PMU Team

1.Mr. Karma T Dorji, Executive Director.                

He comes with a rich experience of 14 years in Project Management and Credit portfolio. His last position was the Project Manager of Special Projects and the Deputy General Manager of Credit Department with Bhutan Development Bank Limited. He had undertaken various poverty alleviation developmental projects of Asian Development Bank, United Nations, Helvetas, United Nations Capital Development Fund and SNV Netherlands in collaboration with BDBL. He had joined SABAH Bhutan on May 2014.

2.Mr. Dilip Kumar Subba, Head of Human Resource and Administration.

He previously worked for Tashi InfoComm Limited, the first private telecommunication company in Bhutan. His current role in the organization includes supporting project through range of activities including Human Resource Management, support business expansion, undertake procurement, manage inventory, develop appropriate policies for smooth functioning of the office, liaise with different stakeholders (Project Implementing partners, business houses etc.) and other relevant tasks assigned by the management from time to time.

3.Mr. Deepak Uraon, Head of Finance.

Mr. Deepak spearheads the Finance Unit and has been one of the longest serving employee when he joined the Project in 2011, then a Project under National Commission for Women & Children. His responsible for managing the funds as per prescribed procedures, make financial projections, manage fund utilization, and develop Business Plan in consultation with Management Committee while ensuring check & balance in day-to-day financial transactions. Prior to joining SABAH-Bhutan he worked as Finance Controller at Rigsum Institute of Information & Technology and part time financial support for numerous business houses.

4.Mr. Gem Tshering, Head of Business Development & Marketing Unit.

He joined as Head of Marketing in October 2013. He is primarily involved in market expansion effort of the organization through publicity, market awareness, export market trial/establishment, customer service etc. Prior to his joining SABAH-Bhutan he worked for companies in Thailand and England.

5.Ms. Kezang Dolkar Dorji, Head of Production Unit.

Ms. Kezang heads the Production Unit and is in charge of providing works to SABAH members. She closely works with Marketing Unit for production plan and Design Head for coming up with new product. She undertakes frequent travels to distribute works to members in rural areas and handles quality check. She has to interact and work with members on almost daily basis.

6.Ms. Sonam Dolma, Head of Design Unit.

She is the creative head of the organization and primarily tasked with bringing new products in the market. She brings out innovative fabric, products and run market trials. She previously worked under Marketing and Business Development Division of NRDCL. She has actively participated in Project Bhutan Season 1 & 2 and also design competition ‘Go Youth Go’. She cited ‘Passion for fashion and designing’ as an inspiration to join SABAH-Bhutan.

7.Mr. Pema Tshering,  Acting Head of Capacity Building & Membership Development Unit.

Mr. Pema Tshering is currently serving as Acting Program officer, Capacity Building & Membership Development Unit. This special assignment comes after his having served as Marketing Officer for SABAH-Bhutan for past two years. In his new assignment, he will work towards enrollment of new members, orient them on the organization as well as help them increase skills through capacity development programs like training and conduction field & exposure trip within Bhutan & abroad.

8.Mr. Jigme, Head of IT Unit.

Mr. Jigme Heads the IT Unit of SABAH-Bhutan beginning April 2016. He is responsible towards development and deployment of Management Information System for the organization in collaboration with Administration Unit and the Management. He also supports the organization through range of IT support and advice. Prior to his joining SABAH, he worked as Instrumentation-cum-IT Officer at Kingyal Coke & Chemicals Pvt.Ltd, Phuentsholing.

9.Ms. Dechen Wangmo, Focal Person for Food Activities.

Dechen Wangmo is also one of the earliest staff associated with SABAH Project in Bhutan. She was initially appointed as Dispatcher from which she was promoted to Administrative Assistant in 2013. Since 2015, she has been made the focal person for food processing activities of SABAH-Bhutan and her responsibilities includes lending support to Gelephu Food processing unit, production plan and also marketing all the produce of Food Processing Unit.

10.Ms. Choki Lhamo, Asst. Finance Officer.

Prior to her joining this organization she worked as Project Coordinator in Department of Youth & Sports. She joined SABAH-Bhutan in 2015 and will look after day to day expenditure and banking works.
